| 3D STRUCTURE |

|
Lantibiotics have now become subject of "protein engineering" projects, with the aim of altering, via site-directed mutagenesis, their activity, stability and spectrum of susceptible target cells. In order to conduct such a project in an optimal, rational, way, it is essential that structural information is available, not only of the covalent structure, but also of the spatial structure, and that a good model for the structure-function relationship exists. The following are some 3D structures of lantibiotics modeled in our lab.
